Hello,

I'm currently trying to update the u-boot-tools for the target in order to get a newer fw_printenv which also supports MMC devices, thus non-MTD ones. The build system has changed in recent u-boot version. My current state is that fw_printenv can be build for the target, but mkimage can not. It is always build for the build host, Overwriting HOSTCC doesn't work with this newer version. So the question arises why mkimage would be needed on target at all? I don't see any reason for that.
With mkimage removed there is only fw_printenv left, should there really be a menuconfig with one subconfig? Even further without that option set nothing would be installed at all.

Best regards,
Alexander
