[ptxdist] Kernel config dependencies in out of tree modules

Hi,

I'm building an out of tree kernel module with ptxdist-2016.04.0. It is a framebuffer driver for a SPI graphic LCD display.
Because no other framebuffer driver is selected in the kernel, some config options like CONFIG_FB_SYS_FOPS and CONFIG_SYS_COPYAREA etc. are not selected.
Compilation of my module fails because of missing symbols from the frambuffer core. When I select another framebuffer driver in the kernelconfig to build, for example the SSD1307 driver which selects all these config options mentioned above, everything works fine. However, this solution is not very clean. Is there a better way to get the module working with its dependencies to the framebuffer core?
