Hello,

I've tried to build my "test" project based on "cmake".
During this a lot of the cmake stuff was build also.

After that I tried to build the package "wt".
Now I got totally different messages compared to the first run!
These messages were much more helpful for me (the builder was complaining about missing boost libraries).

After adapting the configuration for "boost" and re-building "boost" now I can build "wt" also!!!

It seems, that you have to make a few "cycles" or "iterations" in order to build a package based on "cmake" ....

Jan-Marc.

Betreff: PTXdist: New cmake package (webtoolkit wt)

Hello,

I'm using "ptxdist-2013.01.0" for building a root filesystem.

Now I'm going to bring a new package into my BSP project.
This package is a "C++ Web Toolkit" ("wt", http://www.webtoolkit.eu/wt/download).
You have to use "cmake" in order to build this package; I'm using "cmake-2.8.2".

I created new rules for that package with ptxdist newpackage target But these rules a based on "autotools" rather than on "cmake".

So I created a new package with
ptxdist newpackage src-cmake-prog
in order to see the build steps for a project based on "cmake".

I have adapted my rule file "wt.make":
.
# ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Prepare
# ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

#CMAKE_PROG_CONF_ENV := $(CROSS_ENV)

#
# cmake
#
CMAKE_PROG_CONF_TOOL := cmake
#CMAKE_PROG_CONF_OPT := $(CROSS_CMAKE_USR) .

Unfortunately I got a lot of error messages:

user1@GInsPTXdist:~/PTXdist/bsp-gins-qreader$ ptxdist prepare wt

------------------
target: wt.prepare
------------------

Re-run cmake no build system arguments

What should I do?
Is there an application note for a packages based on "cmake"?

Thanks for any tips!

Best regards,
Jan-Marc.

Probably the main part is that the dependencies (e.g. SELECTS) in you
wt.in file are not set correctly. This is what tells ptxdist about what
to build before trying to build your package. So if you add a new
package and at one point in time it suddenly works like magic, bets are
that you "accidentially" fixed something in your ptxconfig that makes
things work for you now, but is hardly reproductible.

So everytime you add a new oackage, after you think you have finished
it, always clear the whole project and do a targetinstall
$YOURNEWPACKAGE only (not "GO"!). if everything still works, then your
chances are that the dependencies are close to correct :)

Thanks, but I will do with that email as I desire, including storing for
the period of time I see fit, forwarding it, or taking information from
it and distributing it. And I will remind you that this footer is utter
nonsense every time I receive it through an open mailing list.
