Hi,
I'm happy to announce that I've just released ptxdist-2014.07.0.
I'd call this a feature release. Be careful when updating, a lot of things
have changed.
Besides the usual mix of bugfixes and new versions we have:
- updates to the core host-tools (fakeroot, gettext, pkg-config...). Most
people won't notice anything here, but It's possible that this broke
things on more exotic build systems (e.g. OS X).
- Systemd 214 has the usual special requirements for the Kernel. Make sure
you check the systemd README for kernel options you might need to enable.
- With the new option '--auto-version' PTXdist will execute the correct
PTXdist version as defined by the ptxconfig. <prefix>/bin/ptxdist is now
a wrapper script that adds this option. This is useful when working with
multiple PTXdist versions.
- ${PTXDIST_BSP_AUTOVERSION} can be used in PROJECT_VERSION and
PLATFORM_VERSION. Is is derived from an anotated git tag
'something-YYYY.MM.X' (just like the ptxdist git versions).
- PTXdist now supports distributed compiling with icecc (also known as
Icecream)[1]. Just install it, enable it in 'ptxdist setup' and PTXdist
will handle all the ugly details.
- Building packages is parallel (with -jeX) should work again.
As you can see, there are some rather large changes in this release.
This might not be the best release to switch to right before a feature
freeze...
Thanks to all contributors and - as always - the shortlog below.
Enjoy,
Michael Olbrich

This means you have to explicitly use e.g. `ptxdist-2014.07.0 migrate`
if you want to migrate a project to a new version, because `ptxdist
migrate` would lead to calling the current version to be called with
migrate, which is (hopefully) a no-op. ;-)
Anyway, starting from a ptxdist 2014.06.0 BSP, `ptxdist-2014.07.0
migrate` leads to the following error here:
#
# configuration written to .config
#
/usr/local/lib/ptxdist-2014.07.0/config/collection/Kconfig:30: can't
open file "generated/ptx_collection.in"
ptxdist: 'collection oldconfig' returned with an error
:-/
Not tried the other things yet.

Should be fixed in master now. So collections are broken in
ptxdist-2014.07.0 :-(

Another question, if you don't mind. As far as I can see, this finds out
the right ptxdist version but it also passes the --auto-version option,
which leads to e.g. this call:
/usr/local/bin/ptxdist-2014.06.0 --auto-version menuconfig
And this just shows the help of ptxdist 2014.06.0 …
If it's supposed to work with older releases (which do not understand
--auto-version) one should possibly drop this parameter when calling the
old version instead of passing it?

I originally thought, that '--auto-version' won't do anything when the
correct ptxdist version is called, so I didn't remove the option from the
argument list.
As you found out, this breaks older versions. I've pushed a fix for that.
