No, it doesn't. (That is why I asked the question in the first place.)
I get the following.

    install_fixup:  @DESCRIPTION@ -> missing ... done.
    xpkg_finish:    collecting license (unknown) ... done.
    xpkg_finish:    creating opkg package ... 
    
    No suitable file '' could be found in any of these locations:
    -.pengutronix-beagleboneti
    -
    
    Error: install_tree failed!
    failed

I guess this is a bug?
